This morning Thomas wakes up and daddy's getting him dressed as they are discussing what the plan is for the rest of the day. Starting with bagels at the bagel store followed by a trip to the store to pick up a present for our friend Emily.
Thomas - What are we going to get her?
Daddy - I think Mommy said we were going to get her a doll.
Thomas - I know Dad, how about a Garbage Truck ... a Pink Barbie Garbage Truck!!!!!!
Let me tell you, this kid is fascinated with all things garbage trucks ... including garbage.

Happy Mother's day!!!
Today we had a Mother's Day Tea with Thomas' class. It was absolutely surreal. We have waited so long to bring this precious young man home and it was a blessing to share this special time with him.

We started off in their classroom where they sang us several songs. My favorite was "Mommy's are for Hugging, Mommy's are for Kissing ... we love you, we love you" ... so sweet!!! Then they brought us a little gift that they had made for us ... a little satchet of potpurri and a homemade flower.
Before we were released to the fellowship hall for the tea part of the morning Mrs. Callegari read little accounts that each of the children said about their mommy and we were supposed to guess the one that our child said about us. I was the only one who guessed correctly ... he kind of gave it away when he was asked 'What does mommy do around the house?' and he answered 'walks and don't run'. Yes, I say that quite often around here!!!

During tea I was given a Mother's Day Card from Thomas. I collect his projects that have hand prints on it so I thought it was perfect!!!

Thomas seems to really enjoy school. He gets very involved and caught up with his play. He is very imaginative. He loves firetrucks and makes firetrucks sounds, sometimes a little bit loud, but we keep reminding him to use inside voices and he is responding to our suggestions. He loves the rice table but at times his excitement causes the rice to get thrown around. Thomas has good manners, usually remembering to say "please" and "Thank You". Thomas is a very loving boy.

What Thomas Wants For His Birthday
With Megan's birthday coming up at the end of the week and Thomas' birthday only a month away there has been many discussions on what each of them want for their birthday.
Thomas for the most part has held steady in his wishes for a garbage truck. He loves anything and everything to do with garbage trucks, including garbage cans and garbage can lids.

Yesterday, however, he found something new and interesting that he wanted ...

In his defense, the one he saw being used by the elderly gentleman did have colorful tennis balls on the rear legs, presumably to help it move over the ground easier. Thankfully, the gentleman in question, did not hear Thomas' unusual birthday wish as I don't think he would have been as amused as we were.
