No Christmas Card Picture This Week

We took the kids to see Santa today. A friend told me that he would be at Longwood Estates until 2 pm. She told me this at 12 pm at the dance studio. Megan's class is done at 1 pm. On the way home I called daddy and asked if he could get Thomas up from his nap early and get his Christmas outfit on him ... cause we were going to get our Christmas pictures taken!!! They were both ready when we got home and I only had to strip Megan of her leotard, leave the tights on, and throw on Megan's Christmas dress and black shoes and we were ready to go!!!

Unfortunately, when we got there we realized that we had one coat between the four of us and it was a bit chillier then we thought. But hey, we can work around this! Two kids can fit into daddy's big warm leather jacket!

We arrived at 1:48 and we got in line immediately. This picture was taken while we were waiting in line to see Santa. This is the best of the dozen or so we took and it didn't make the cut for the Christmas cards.

At 1:53, 5 minutes after waiting in lines freezing our hinies off, this nice lady comes up and informs us that we are welcome to wait in line but AT 2 pm Santa has to take off. We may or may not make it, but we decided to take our chances.

During the car ride over and the whole wait in line we are talking this Santa thing up. Telling him what we want for Christmas, sitting on his lap, smiling for the camera. Both kids are super excited and can't wait to sit on Santa's lap.

Finally, at 1:58 Santa is in sight. Both kids freak out and there was no way in the world we were getting these kids anywhere near Santa and we had a line of about 5 couples who had less then 2 minutes to sit on Santa's lap and tell them their Christmas list so we did the nice thing and walked right on by. No, the kids did not get a candy cane and No, the kids did not get to make the ornament. No Santa, No candy cane, No ornament, No argument!!!

Now we were are all dressed up with no where to go. We remembered that last weekend, while playing at the beach there were several families on the beach taking their Christmas pictures. Ha, it's a nice sunny day ... let's go!

If we thought it was cold at Longwood Estates, that was nothing compared to the WINDY beach. This was the best of the bunch of the dozen or so pictures we took at the beach. It didn't make the Christmas card cut either.

Maybe next weekend ...
